The Firm

Mr. Yohanes Memory Mangi Sa'pang established Mangi Sa'pang Attorneys at Law in December 2021 after working around 11 years with a few prominent law firms based in Jakarta. He set up this firm focusing on litigation (commercial dispute resolutions) and labor law service as the bread and butter of the firm.

Last but not least, Yohanes' broad networking through his participation with the Worldwide Independent Lawyers League, Business Networking International, Stockholm University - International Commercial Arbitration Law Alumni Association, and past project experiences with foreign law firms will be helpful for the firm in rendering the utmost service to our domestic and international clients.

About Yohanes

Yohanes has been a registered advocate of the Indonesian Bar Association since 2010. Within the course, he represented the domestic and international clients in many commercial disputes before courts and arbitration fora. He gained those experiences through his journey with a few prominent law firms based in Jakarta before he set up this firm in December 2021.

Aside from representing clients in all stages of litigation proceedings, Yohanes has been advising clients on various commercial and labor law issues.

In addition, according to Gallup CliftonStrengths Assessment & Personal Strength Discovery Test, the outcome revealed Yohanes led with Executing themes and possessed the following five strength attributes (1) empathy, (2) focus, (3) consistency, (4) competition, and (5) restorative. Represented several holders of reclamation licenses against a local government in a license revocation before the Jakarta Administrative Court.
Represented an Indonesian company against a state-owned and a foreign company in a dispute over an EPC Contract for constructing a smelter in eastern Indonesia at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
Counseled an Indonesian project developer against a state-owned construction company regarding a successful claim for seat determination and venue of arbitration in a dispute of a power plant development project worth over USD 500 million.
Represented one of the most prominent Indonesian business families in a civil case before the Central Jakarta District Court and a criminal case involving dealings with the Indonesian police.
Represented an Indonesian public technology company in an administrative dispute regarding an Electronic Road Pricing tender termination against a local government.
Represented creditors (holders of savings and fixed-term deposit funds) against Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Indosurya Cipta through the debt payment suspension proceeding before the Central Jakarta Commercial Court.
Represented an Indonesian citizen against the receiver in an actio pauliana (preferential payments) dispute before the Central Jakarta Commercial Court.
Represented an Indonesian health equipment company against other shareholders in civil cases before the South Jakarta District Court and North Jakarta District Court.
Counseled an Indonesian coal mining company against its contractor about a breach of the cooperation agreement.
Represented an Indonesian contractor company as a claimant against Joint Operating Body (JOB) Oil Operator in the breach of contract dispute before Indonesian National Arbitration Institution (BANI).
Represented Energy Asia Group Ltd as a creditor in filing a petition for a debt payment suspension against PT Energi Tata Persada before the Central Jakarta Commercial Court.
Represented a few local creditors against PT Djakarta Lloyd in a debt payment suspension proceeding before the Central Jakarta Commercial Court.
Counseled the property owner to reach an amicable settlement in the commercial dispute against PT OYO Rooms Indonesia.
Represented PT ACE Jaya Proteksi, an insurance company, as a defendant, against an Indonesian Shipping Company in a marine cargo insurance dispute before Pangkalan Bun District Court.
